Content In this talk, the speaker will recount the COVID-19 epidemiological surveillance activities that were conducted by a large group of volunteers in Pune city since March 2020. Starting as an effort to curate and collate the data that was being collected by the city administration, it soon transformed to a comprehensive effort to estimate the state of the epidemic in Pune city and inform the city’s efforts to contain and manage the epidemic. The speaker will talk about the enabling factors, results and challenges encountered during the past year, and briefly reflect upon what could have helped us stay ahead of the (epidemic) curve.
